Our Values

In all of my own creative work, I place emphasis on sustainable art practices that make the most of the natural beauty around me, harnessing Kildare’s vibrant colours and textures to create eco-friendly artwork and objects that will stand the test of time.

Meanwhile, in my art workshops, I share traditional, time-honoured knowledge about how to make dyes and inks by hand from natural materials. For me, increasing people’s connection with the environment and giving it a role in their self-expression is always an inspiring experience!

Environmental Sustainability

Sustainable materials and traditional techniques are at the core of my work as an artist and printmaker. I rely on hand-made supplies of sustainable dyes and papers whenever possible, often foraging natural materials in the summer and autumn that I use throughout the year.

The creative experiences I offer focus participants on environmental sustainability too. In my natural dye eco-printing workshops, participants learn the skills involved in creating beautiful colours and eye-catching dyes from natural materials that can be foraged sustainably here in Ireland.

Supporting Social Sustainability

I’m also passionate about supporting social sustainability through community-based art projects and teaching. Art can play a powerful role in connecting people with each other, with the natural world, and with the stories that have shaped the past and present for their communities. It can help communities to express their identities, bring ideas to life, and imagine the kinds of exciting futures they want to achieve.

I particularly enjoy coordinating corporate and community-based projects with a strong ecological focus, as well as a strong sense of place!
