If you’re thinking about booking an art workshop at the Blueway Art Studio, or if you’ve booked and you’d like extra information, check out the frequently asked questions below. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for,
Get in Touch and I’ll do my best to help.

Are your art workshops suitable for complete beginners?

I welcome beginners to many of my workshops. Please check individual workship descriptions as they clearly state whether a workshop is suitable for beginners or people with prior experience.

Are there age limits on workshops?

Workshops are open to people aged 14 and above.

Where are your art workshops located?

Most of my workshops take place at the Blueway Art Studio in Narraghmore, Kildare, but I also hold events at locations across the county and Ireland’s Ancient East. Details are included in each workshop description.

Can you run a bespoke workshop?

I will be delighted to design a workshop to match your interests, location, and group size. Please get in touch to let me know what you have in mind.

Do you take group bookings? And are there group size limits?

I welcome private group bookings as well as bookings from tour operators. I generally have a group size limit of 10, but this is dependent on location. Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss a potential group booking for a workshop or art experience.

Are art materials included?

Materials are included in all of my workshops, but do check individual details which set out material options clearly.

Is tea and coffee or lunch provided?

Tea and coffee are provided, but lunch is not included. You are welcome to bring your own food with you, but you can also call to local places to eat in the village (see details in my destination page).

What should I wear to the art workshop?

It will generally make sense to wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you won’t mind getting marked. Where workshops take place outdoors, I recommend that you bring waterproof shoes and a jacket.

Do you run art classes for children?

I have recently moved into my new premises in Narraghmore, and I hope to have classes for children up and running in the near future. Sign up to my mailing list for updates.

I have booked a workshop!

I can’t find my confirmation email. Can you help?

Please email or call me with the name on the booking and email address used to make the bookings.

What do I need to bring?

A smile and lunch (or a plan to visit local places to eat mentioned below)! Unless specified in the workshop description, all materials are provided.

I have booked but I can’t attend. Can I get a refund?

You will be eligible a refund as long as you cancel by phone or email a minimum of 48 hours in advance of your workshop. No refunds are available beyond that point.

Where can I find places to stay for my workshop visit?

For suggestions about places to stay in the local area, see my destination page.

What are good things to do near the Blueway Studio?

Narraghmore in South Kildare, close to the borders with Wicklow and Carlow, is a hidden treasure with rich history and heritage. Be sure to visit the Ild Hardware community café and craft shop, which sells home-baked scones and cakes and locally made artisan crafts. I also highly recommend a visi to Narraghmore Antique and Vintage Shop behind Mel’s Bar.

And there are lots of places to visit nearby, including Moone High cross, Ballitore Quaker Museum, Kilkea Castle, St James round tower and Prior, Castedermot. The Shackleton Museum and the Barrow Blueway in Athy shouldn’t be missed too!

For more suggestions and recommendations, see my destination page.
